Beginning Women's Chorus
Grades 9 to 12
Beginning Women’s Chorus

Designed for the beginning high school chorus singer. Lays the foundation for vocal technique, choral musicianship, and aesthetic awareness through varied literature. A great way to earn the fine arts graduation credit.

🎓Grades 9 to 12 • Fine Arts Credit
🎤Open enrollment, no audition required
📅Rehearsals and performances beyond school day during concert seasons

Materials and uniforms are required. Students receive details at the start of the semester.
Men's Chorus
Grades 9 to 12
Men’s Chorus

For beginning and intermediate high school chorus singers. Provides fundamentals of vocal technique and development, choral musicianship, and aesthetic awareness through varied choral literature. Another path toward the fine arts graduation requirement.

Intermediate Women's Chorus
Grades 10 to 12
Intermediate Women’s Chorus

An intermediate level choir for upperclassmen treble voices. High-level performances through the study of appropriate vocal literature. Performance techniques, music knowledge, critical analysis, and aesthetic responses are emphasized.

Previous chorus experience plus director approval required
📅Rehearsals and performances several times throughout the year

Advanced Women's Chorus
Grades 10 to 12 • Audition
Advanced Women’s Chorus

Advanced treble voice singers develop individual and ensemble skills through high-level literature. Healthy and expressive singing, accurate notation interpretation, and aesthetic response to music are central to this course.

🎓Grades 10 to 12 • Audition required
Student and parent contract required • Minimum 2.0 GPA
📅Rehearsals and performances several times throughout the year

A minimum 2.0 GPA must be maintained. Students practice outside class and attend all required events.
Chamber Choir
Flagship SATB Ensemble
Chamber Choir

The flagship mixed SATB ensemble at Parrish Community High School. Advanced singers develop skills through varied high school literature, including traditional and pop a cappella. The highest level of performance, commitment, and reward.

Beginning Women’s Chorus and Men’s Chorus are open enrollment. Intermediate Women’s, Advanced Women’s, and Chamber Choir require prior experience or an audition plus director approval. Email Mrs. Carrier at carrier3k@manateeschools.net to get started.
Yes. All choir programs require rehearsals and performances beyond the regular school day during concert seasons. Students are expected to practice outside class time and attend all required events. This commitment is a big part of what makes the program so special.
